DRIVER'S EDUCATION FY2022
Gordon County Schools Transportation Department is proud to offer a Georgia Department of Transportation approved Driver's Education program for high school students. Students participating in this program will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in behind-the-wheel instruction and prepare them for life on the road as a responsible driver. The GCS Driver's Education Program is available for any student that has their learner’s permit, regardless of the school they attend. Following Joshua's Law, all 16-year olds are required to complete a certified driver education course before they can obtain their license or wait until the age of 17 to receive your license. In order for students to complete the Driver's Education Program, each student must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving time. All class curriculum and tests are conducted utilizing AAA How to Drive 15th Edition.

Swain Elementary 706- 629-0141 Ext. 3708 Tolbert Elementary 706-629-4404 Ext. 3405 Registration Fee: A $25.00 registration fee will be charged per child to attend the Gordon County Schools After School Program. Each additional child will be $12.50. A family with four or more children will pay no more than $50.00. *A $25.00 registration fee will be charged for a drop-in student upon the second visit. Rates: • $10.00 a day or $50.00 per week for the 1st child in each family. • Each additional child per family- $8.00 a Day or $40.00 per week Fee Payment: After School Program fees are to be pre-paid weekly on the first day of each week that a child attends the program. In the event that the pre-payments are not made in full, and in advance, the child will not be allowed to attend. Payments may be made payable to Gordon County Schools Community Education onsite via cash or check or online through electronic funds transfer from checking account or via credit card. Online payments can be made by registering for an account through ELEYO- the ASP student account software.
